The best wines declare where they come from before they reveal how they taste.

In Getting to Know Italian Wines Better, join our sommelier Danylo inside L’OCA Labs for a guided journey through the country’s most iconic wine styles, from alpine vineyards to sun-soaked coastal regions, paired with complementary light bites designed to show how Italian wines are shaped by place and purpose and how they belong at the table.

We’ll begin with a welcoming pour of Prosecco as you settle in for a taste of what’s to come…

Italian Wine #1Pinot Grigio | Veneto / Alto Adige
This light, crisp, and refreshing white is known for its high acidity and subtle fruit flavours. Unlike New World Pinot Grigios, Italian examples are designed to pair beautifully with food, which is why locals often enjoy this wine with lunch.
Food Pairing: Marinated Olives with Lemon Zest & Herbs

Italian Wine #2Rosé Ricasoli | Tuscany
This dry, elegant rosé is food-friendly, with red fruit and subtle herbal notes. Tuscan rosés are less fruity and more serious than many New World examples, and in Italy, rosé is enjoyed year-round.
Food Pairing: Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe

Italian Wine #3: Lambrusco | Emilia-Romagna
This lightly sparkling red is fresh, juicy, and surprisingly versatile with food, defying common myths about Lambrusco. Its bubbles and acidity make it an ideal companion for rich and salty dishes.
Food Pairing: Mortadella, Parmigiano Reggiano, and Mini Focaccia

Italian Wine #4: Chianti | Tuscany
This medium-bodied Sangiovese-based Chianti has high acidity with flavours of cherry, herbs, and earthy notes. Sangiovese’s bright acid gives it power at the table and makes it a classic choice for food pairing in Italy.
Food PairingProsciutto, Eggplant, and Tomato Incoltini with Pecorino Cheese

Italian Wine #5: A surprise wine selected by our Sommelier
Food Pairing: Crafted by our Chefs to complement the wine
